2019 Ford Fusion Revealed

2019 Ford Fusion Revealed

The Fusion is back for the 2019 model year and better than ever! The Fusion offers so many incredible features that keep every passenger comfortable and connected and style enhancements that turn heads wherever it goes. There are so many new things for the Fusion including the debut of Ford's Co-Pilot360 technology, a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, and an overall sleeker exterior design! Plus the Fusion's Energi electric-only has been boosted for the 2019 model year too!

What is Ford's Co-Pilot360 technology?

The Fusion is launching the first application of Ford's Co-Pilot360 technology. This system standardizes driver assistance technologies to improve the experience behind the wheel for drivers. Every single trim level of the 2019 Fusion, from the base to the most luxury, will be outfitted with standard Ford Co-Pilot360 Protect technology. This system includes driver assistant features like automatic high-beams, a backup camera, lane keeping system, blind spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Fusion SE models and above may be outfitted with an enhanced version of this technology called Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist. Which adds voice-activated navigation, adaptive cruise control equipped with stop/go, and SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link.

How has the electric range been changed for the 2019 model year?

The brand new Ford Energi will be offering an estimated 25-mile range with just electric power! This is almost 20 percent more than the model on market right now. This is possible because Ford engineers created a brand new 9.0-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that is air-cooled. There is no change in the size of the battery but it is able to offer a greater energy capacity. Based on information from Ford plug-in hybrid drivers, the company believes that up to 80% of plug-in customers will be able to drive their entire commute on electric power alone with the 2019 Fusion Energi. (This is assuming that the vehicle is charged fully at work and at home) Without workplace charging Ford estimates that nearly 48% of customers will be able to drive to and from their jobs on just electric power.
