What is the inspiration behind the design of the Aviator?

Aeronautics is the forefront of the inspiration for this SUV. The Lincoln Design Director says that the grille in the front builds the presence and stature of the vehicle while the body and tail taper off with streamlined lines to create a distinct aerofoil analogy. When you look at a plane or a bird the wings are at an angle falling downward to the rear much like the graceful lines you see in the Aviator's exterior.

What features should I expect to find in the Aviator?

First and foremost you'll find convenience and comfort. Before even entering the vehicle things are easier than ever as your smartphone can act as a key! With the Lincoln Way app, your phone can start and drive the vehicle, open the trunk, and lock and unlock the door. Inside the cabin, you'll find clean lines and sophisticated materials that create a one-of-a-kind driving experience. Every passenger will stay connected thanks to standard Wi-Fi and there is no fear of a phone dying as there are multiple power outlets located throughout the cabin. Plus those in the front seat benefit from wireless phone charging! Other technologies to get excited for include Lincoln's first ever implementation of Suspension Preview technology which adjusts the suspension for road conditions by scanning the road ahead with a camera. As well as Lincoln Co-Pilot360 which is a suite full of advanced driver assistance technologies. Lincoln is also introducing a selection of considerate prompts through the 12-inch standard cluster display and the newest version of SYNC. These prompts include gas stations recommendations and navigation if you were to run low on fuel. This system will help driver face all kinds of challenges.

What kind of power can I expect from the Aviator?

The powertrain underneath the hood of the new Aviator is a twin-turbocharged engine that can work seamlessly with Lincoln's very first plug-in hybrid technology. The electric capability and power of this engine help the Aviator deliver the most powerful, smoothest, and quietest drive from Lincoln ever! The engine combined with the hybrid technology allows the Aviator to provide drivers with a refined and responsive ride without all the noise from a typical powertrain. Plus there is no need for range anxiety as the SUV is capable of using the twin-turbocharged engine on its own if needed. You can further customize the driving experience with Lincoln Drive Modes.
